A Fresh Start This April: Introducing Our Tuesday Digital Job Club

April has brought a renewed sense of energy to Tuesdays at the Starting Point Learning Hub, and we’re excited to launch something new for our community, our Digital Job Club.

Funded by CDL Software, this initiative is designed to support local people on their journey back into work by helping them confidently apply for jobs online while building essential digital skills for today’s workplace.

We’ve already welcomed several local learners to our informal sessions, and it’s been fantastic to see people getting involved, sharing experiences, and supporting one another. The relaxed and friendly atmosphere makes it easy for everyone to ask questions, learn at their own pace, and build confidence step by step.

Learners joining us at Digital Job Club are looking for opportunities across a wide range of sectors, from construction to retail to hospitality. While these industries may seem very different, they all have one key thing in common: the application process is now online.

Our goal is to create a space where local people feel confident to drop in for support, build their digital skills, and ultimately be able to apply for jobs independently. This includes practical help with rewriting CVs, using AI tools to support job searching and applications, and understanding which digital skills are most useful in the modern workplace.

Whether it’s filling in online application forms, uploading CVs, navigating job platforms, or setting up and managing email accounts, our sessions offer hands-on guidance every step of the way.

More than that, the club is about building confidence, giving people the tools, knowledge, and support they need to take control of their job search and move forward with independence.

Join Claire and Digital Champion Rita, for friendly support on Tuesdays at Starting Point.
