Regular Basic Digital Skills Sessions

We run regular digital skills sessions and Databank sessions across Stockport. If you would like to come along to one of our sessions, we would love to see you!

We also run our Digidots playgroup, a Job club for digital skills for work and work searching, plus our after-school console club.

Starting Point Weekly Sessions

Monday 10am – 11am   – Arthur Greenwood centre, Hipley Close, Woodley. SK6 1ES. Claire will be supporting the Oldham Drive estate at a weekly digital group in the Arthur Greenwood centre, Woodley. SK6 1ES. You are more than welcome to join us to learn new digital skills following our weekly guides on various topics .

Monday 11am – 12.00 – Bredbury Library, George Lane, SK6 1DJ. Join James and Starting Point Digital Champions to learn new digital skills, ask your digital questions, and get support with your device. Databank support also available if you are struggling with the cost of mobile data.

Monday 11.30 – 12.30 – Digidots Playgroup – term time only. Starting Point’s Learning Hub in Woodley Precinct, 87 Hyde Road, SK6 1RJ. A free, warm and welcoming baby and toddler group with a digital twist. Join us for a relaxed and friendly session where little ones can play and explore a mix of traditional toys and simple digital activities.

Tuesdays 10am – 11.30amJoin our ‘Digital Job Club’ at Starting Point’s Learning Hub in Woodley Precinct, 87 Hyde Road, SK6 1RJ. If you are looking for work, and need some support to apply for jobs online, edit your CV, brush up your digital skills for a new role, or find out how to use AI to help you, just drop in – no need to book.

Tuesdays 2pm-3pm and 3pm – 4pm – York Street Community Centre, Bengal Street. SK3 9HT. We”ll be learning new skills from our latest digital guides. From 3-4pm, drop in with any digital questions or for support with your device.

Wednesdays – 4pm -6pm – Console Club for age 11 (year 6) upwards. Term time only, Booked places only. You must sign up and receive confirmation of your place before you can come along. A friendly, safe after school session to play games, meet friends, talk about any digital worries, and share how to be safe online. Games are rated up to Pegi 12. Email hello@startpoint.org.uk

Thursdays 10.30am – 11.30am and 11.30am – 12.30pm – Cornerstone, Edward Street, SK1 3NQ. We’re supporting to trouble shoot digital issues with two drop in sessions.  We will be there to support learners with form filling, online job applications, or answering digital questions from learners at the ‘big table at the back’.

Thursdays 1pm- 2pmOfferton Library, Mallowdale Road, SK2 5NX. Join Staff and Digital Champions for support with digital questions and devices. Any drop-in basic digital skills questions welcome, we can also help with digital skills for work and online job searching at Offerton. Databank sims also available.

Thursdays 2pm-3pm – Bramhall library, SK7 2ND. Digital Champions can help with digital worries and online skills, as well as help you to use your device. Pop in and say hello!

Fridays 10-11am and 11-12pm –  Starting Point’s Learning hub in Woodley Precinct (87 Hyde Road) Join us 10am -11am for a drop in (bring your questions!) Or from 11 -12 we’ll be following our latest guide on various digital topics.

Fridays 10.30 – 11.30 – Cheadle library, Ashfield Road. Join Staff and our Digital Champions for support with your digital questions and devices. Get help with the cost of data with our Databank sims.

Databank support from Starting Point
We run regular Databank support sessions. We are part of the National Databank from Good Things Foundation, and can issue sim cards to people on a low income, kindly donated by O2 and Vodaphone.

  • Every Monday 11am – 12.00pm, Bredbury Library, George Lane, Bredbury, Stockport, SK6 1DJ
  • Every Thursday 1pm-2pm, Offerton Library, Mallowdale Road, Stockport, SK2 5NX
  • Every Friday 9am -11am at Cornerstone (Stockport Homes building) Edward street, SK1 3NQ. (This replaces our previous Thursday Stopford House session)
  • Every Friday 10.30am -11.30am at Cheadle Library, Ashfield Road, Stockport, SK8 1BB.

There are tons of other sessions happening throughout Stockport. We are delighted to work with Stockport Libraries, Stockport Homes and Continual Education amongst others to support them access digital champion support.
