We’re excited to share some big news, Starting Point (the training bit of what we do) has officially outgrown our current cosy home of the coffee shop!
The coffee shop is thriving too, and both teams now need more room to continue growing. This is testament to the hard work of our staff and volunteers and the loyalty of our customers in both businesses.
Our New Home
On 30th October, we signed a lease for 87 Hyde Road, Woodley, which will become our new base from January 2026 onwards. Don’t panic, the coffee shop is staying where it is.
This new space will:
- Be dedicated to learning
- House our staff offices
- Give us the space we need to grow
If you pass by, you might already see building work underway, made possible through UKSPF funding. Just to clarify, Starting Point will cover all rent, utilities, and running costs. We don’t receive any discounts or financial support for the building itself.
Coffee Shop Update
Separate building work for the coffee shop begins this month and will ramp up at the start of next year (personally financed of course). There may be some minor disruption, but we’re keeping it to a minimum.
Temporary Changes to Classes
From the end of this week (14th November), the coffee shop meeting room will no longer be available.
Here’s what’s changing:
- Friday classes → Moving to Arthur Greenwood Centre, same times, until the end of the year.
- Tuesday classes → Moving to Mondays at Bredbury Library at the same times.
Looking Ahead
While the venues may change, the same friendly team will still be there to support you. We hope you’ll find that the new space brings even more opportunities to learn and connect.
We’re so excited for this new chapter, and can’t wait to see how both Starting Point and the coffee shop continue to grow with the space to breathe and expand.
