“I want to say thank you because I’ve got a job interview!”

When David* first came to Starting Point at Cornerstone, he was feeling overwhelmed. Like so many jobseekers we see, he was faced with a maze of online platforms, some applications were through Indeed, others required navigating directly to company websites. Each site seemed to demand different logins, different versions of his CV, and different steps. Understandably, it was becoming messy.

And here is where we stepped in:

Over the past few months, our team has supported David with the practical skills and confidence he needed to keep moving forward in his job search. Together, we worked on:

  • Organising his CVs: making sure the most up-to-date version was saved and uploaded to Indeed.
  • Tidying up online accounts: deleting older documents and ensuring his login details were secure and accessible.
  • Building confidence: showing him how to navigate different platforms, so he didn’t feel lost each time he faced a new application.

What started as regular support sessions soon grew into independence. David began completing applications on his own, only occasionally checking in with our Digital Champions when he needed reassurance.

And then came the moment that made all the effort worthwhile. At his last session, David walked in with a big smile and said:

“I want to say thank you because I’ve got a job interview!”

For David, this is more than just an interview—it’s a step closer to employment, self-confidence, and a brighter future. For us, it’s a reminder of why we do what we do: small, consistent support can make a huge difference in someone’s journey.
