Gary was one of 16 people who visited our national databank drop in session at Stockport Homes’ Cornerstone venue this week. He came in to see us after being told about the databank by his JCP job coach.

He currently uses his unlimited data to connect to the internet at home as he can’t afford wifi, but his tariff was ending that day and the promotion price has now ended and the cost has doubled which he can’t afford.

We discussed social tariffs but he had looked into these already and it is still too expensive. If it was under £10 a month would probably make use of it but anything over £10 is just unaffordable for him at the moment.

He has been using data as a wifi connection at home and using is now going to be too expensive, but he was genuinely made up with the 25gb available through the databank and he said it would be real lifeline while he is looking for work.
